Not Even Foamous

The Entire Works of Paisley MacLeod, unfortunately

Solo

When not working with a band, I write songs on my own, and over the past year I've recorded some of these songs. Initially I recorded some so I could use music in a video I was making and still retain all the copyrights. Then I recorded a few more songs and released an album on CafePress. I'm hoping to find a way to release the songs online digitally so it is cheaper and easier for people to get it, so I'm working on that. I also perform solo at several Coffee House events at my school, and I am hoping to do some other small things. I don't really hope to go far in this capacity, because I prefer working with a band, but this is fun for now.

Transfer To

The first band I was ever involved in, though it is now sort of on hiatus seeing as the two founding members (Bronwen and myself) are on separate continents for the time being. We've only ever played two shows (three if you count the rehearsal performance we did for friends and family). These were some of the first songs either of us had written, and the recordings we have done so far are probably the crappiest quality you will ever experience. We plugged our amps and dollar-store microphones into Bronwen's mp3 player, because it had a voice recording capability. We had very little volume control for each instrument, no separate tracks, plus our instruments got pretty out of tune as we were playing, and the recordings were in mono, not stereo. Yeah. They are that bad. But we were so happy to record that we didn't care! And now we are in the process of recording some of the songs in slightly better quality (ie. using equipment designed for recording music), but it is out of my hands at this point, because I have done my tracks. When they are ready to go, I will let you all know. But until then, enjoy what we have so far.

The Plaid Verbs

The band that resulted from the impromptu hiatus of Transfer To, the goal of this band was to be silly and make people laugh. And that we did. Even if it was mostly ourselves. Consisting of Steph, Eleanora, and myself, we wrote and performed songs that were fun and ridiculous, without emphasis on musical quality or talent, for the most part (my bad!). We took a lot of inspiration from bands like The Arrogant Worms, who are sort of considered to be a musical comedy act. We, in contrast, like to think of ourselves as a comical musidy act instead. We performed at the local high school Battle of the Bands (we only made it to the finals by default), and while we didn't win anything, we were in the paper and we had a blast.
